LQTM Quilt Festival

This coming weekend is the Quilt Festival at La Conner Quilt & Textile Museum. ( There will be 180 quilts on display in Maple Hall, as well as many quilts throughout town on the Quilt Walk. The museum itself has three exhibits, including "Spirit of the West", with work from the Association of Pacific West Quilters. I will be there helping with admissions and answering questions at the Board booth. This is the first year the show will be juried and judged. I have two pieces, shown here. A detail of Leaves on the Dawn and Abundance (messenger bag).

  1. Sounds like you'll have a fun weekend. I really like Leaves on the Dawn! Of course, I guess the palate is autumn colors and I've been seeing a bit of that lately, although it's fading rapidly. We'll see more back East though.

  2. You captured the look of an autumn sun so perfectly in your 'Leaves on the Dawn', Andi. I love the little individual leaves. One word comes to mind for the beautiful colors and fabric....exquisite.

  3. I'm glad you like it. The Dawn is stitched over hand dyed cloth (Suzi Soderlund). I bought it from her at last year's quilt festival. We had a couple days of summer last weekend - almost 80, but now it is decidedly fall - 55, windy and rainy. Time to make more thread leaves!
